The Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange (CBYX) is a prestigious, fully funded scholarship program jointly sponsored by the U.S. and German governments that sends motivated high school students to live and study in Germany for an academic year. Participants are placed with host families in communities throughout Germany, attend local high schools, and receive language instruction upon arrival, making the program accessible even to students with no prior German experience. Students also have the opportunity to meet with U.S. and German government representatives, gaining unique insight into international diplomacy and cultural exchange. CBYX is one of the most competitive and rewarding opportunities available to high school students, offering full funding, genuine cultural immersion, and a transformative experience that very few students ever get the chance to have.
