FLEX Abroad is a fully-funded academic year exchange program administered by American Councils for International Education on behalf of the U.S. Department of State, open to high school students in grades 9 through 12. Selected students are placed with host families in Georgia, Kazakhstan, Poland, or Romania, where they attend local high schools and immerse themselves in a new culture and language. Participants serve as cultural ambassadors, representing the United States while developing communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills on a global stage. It is one of the most competitive and rewarding opportunities available to high school students with a passion for international experience and cross-cultural exchange.
