The Lorenzo de Zavala (LDZ) Youth Legislative Session is the most recognized program of the National Hispanic Institute, designed for high-achieving rising high school juniors and seniors. Held at Colorado State University, this intensive eight-day residential experience immerses students in legislative processes, organizational leadership, and policy development. Participants research real societal issues, craft and present policy proposals, and sharpen their public speaking and debate skills in a competitive model government setting. LDZ is one of the most prestigious leadership programs available to Hispanic high school students and offers a transformative opportunity to develop the skills of tomorrow's leaders.
