The Michigan State University High School Honors Science/Engineering/Mathematics Program (HSHSP) is a seven-week intensive summer research program at Michigan State University for rising 12th graders from across the United States. Established in 1958, it is the oldest continuously running program of its kind in the nation, offering hands-on research apprenticeships across all areas of science, engineering, and mathematics. Students live on campus and work alongside university researchers, gaining the kind of rigorous, real-world research experience typically reserved for college students. HSHSP is one of the most prestigious and selective summer science programs available to high school students in the country.
