The Emory Summer Science Academy is a two week, non residential summer enrichment program for high school students, specifically those entering 9th or 10th grade, offered by the Emory University School of Medicine. The program is designed to introduce students to a wide range of scientific and medical fields through hands on learning experiences, including lectures, laboratory activities, and field based exploration. Participants study topics such as biology, biotechnology, engineering, medical research, and health careers while working closely with instructors that include medical and health professions students. The academy emphasizes building interest in science, increasing awareness of careers in healthcare and STEM, and developing foundational scientific knowledge in an engaging and collaborative environment. Held on Emory’s campus, the program focuses on interactive, real world applications of science and aims to inspire students to pursue future studies and careers in scientific and medical fields.
