The Young Scholars Summer STEMM Research Program is a fully funded six-week research experience hosted by the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign's Grainger College of Engineering for rising 10th-12th grade students from Illinois and surrounding states. Participants are matched with faculty researchers and spend 30-35 hours per week conducting hands-on research in fields such as cancer immunology, neuroscience, artificial intelligence, quantum mechanics, and bioengineering. Housing, meals, and a monetary award are all provided at no cost to students. It is one of the most immersive and prestigious pre-college research opportunities available to high school students in the Midwest.
Designing studies, testing hypotheses, and drawing evidence-based conclusions.
