Summer

The Georgia Tech Summer Institute is a selective residential summer program hosted by the Center for Education Integrating Science, Mathematics, and Computing at Georgia Tech that is designed to prepare talented rising high school juniors, particularly students from rural and under resourced communities in Georgia, for college and future STEM opportunities. Held on Georgia Tech’s Atlanta campus, the weeklong program combines hands on STEM learning with college readiness experiences such as financial aid guidance, scholarship information, academic enrichment, and exposure to STEM majors and careers. Participants engage with Georgia Tech faculty, staff, and current students through workshops, collaborative projects, and community building activities that help them better understand both college life and technical career pathways. The program emphasizes expanding access to advanced educational opportunities for students who may not otherwise have access to similar experiences, while also helping them build confidence, leadership, and academic preparation. By blending practical STEM exploration with mentorship and college transition support, the Georgia Tech Summer Institute aims to empower students to pursue higher education and long term success in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics fields.
