The MIT Introduction to Technology, Engineering, and Science program, commonly known as MITES, is a highly selective and academically rigorous pre college STEM program for high school students, particularly those from underserved or underrepresented backgrounds. Offered by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, MITES provides immersive learning experiences through formats such as a six week residential summer program and a multi month hybrid program. Students engage in challenging coursework in subjects like mathematics, physics, engineering, and computer science while also developing skills in problem solving, collaboration, and critical thinking. The program emphasizes hands on learning, exposure to real world scientific and engineering applications, and building a strong sense of community among participants. It is fully funded, making it accessible to students regardless of financial background, and aims to increase access to STEM opportunities while preparing students for future academic and professional success in technical fields.
