Heal the Bay Beach Cleanups is a free, year-round volunteer program organized by Heal the Bay, a Los Angeles nonprofit dedicated to protecting the coastal waters and watersheds of Greater Los Angeles. Students can participate in monthly public cleanups, team-based cleanup events, and the annual Coastal Cleanup Day held every September, among other formats. The program offers multiple levels of commitment, including the Adopt-A-Beach option, where volunteers pledge to complete at least three cleanups per year. It is a meaningful way for students to take direct action for the environment while contributing to one of the most active coastal conservation programs in Southern California.
