The Pediatrics Internship Program at Stanford (PIPS) is a free, 7-week research internship offered by Stanford Medicine's Department of Pediatrics for rising juniors and seniors from the San Francisco Bay Area. Students with little to no prior research experience are immersed in hands-on science and medicine, working 30 hours per week under the direct mentorship of Stanford faculty, postdoctoral fellows, and researchers. The program focuses on maternal and child health, giving participants the opportunity to contribute to real research projects at one of the world's leading medical institutions. PIPS is a rare chance for high school students to gain authentic laboratory and clinical research experience entirely for free.
