The Eve and Gene Black Summer Medical Career Program is a prestigious mentorship initiative founded in 1969 by the Los Angeles Pediatric Society to inspire high school students to pursue careers in the health professions. Through daily virtual and in-person sessions, participants engage with medical professionals across a wide range of specialties, including pediatricians, surgeons, nurses, pharmacists, dietitians, and therapists. The program provides students with an exceptional opportunity to explore diverse healthcare career paths and gain firsthand insight into the medical field. It is one of the most established and meaningful summer programs available to high school students with a passion for medicine and healthcare.
