The Harvard-MIT Chemistry Olympiad (HMChO) is an international chemistry competition for high school students in grades 9 to 12, founded and organized by past U.S. National Chemistry Olympiad winners and International Chemistry Olympiad medalists from Harvard and MIT. Students compete in a rigorous virtual exam modeled after the USNCO National Exam, consisting of a 90-minute multiple-choice section and a 105-minute free-response section covering advanced chemistry concepts. The competition draws participants from around the world, offering students a chance to test their skills against some of the brightest young chemists globally. HMChO is an outstanding opportunity for students passionate about chemistry to challenge themselves and engage with a community of like-minded peers inspired by the subject.
