The American Anthropological Association Virtual High School Internship is a four-week summer program where students explore the field of anthropology through hands-on research and scholarship. Interns spend approximately 10 hours per week working on real projects, including researching contemporary anthropological work and adapting it for student audiences in grades 6 through 12. The program is offered annually by the American Anthropological Association, one of the leading professional organizations in the field, and takes place entirely online from approximately June 1 to June 26. It is a rare opportunity for high school students to gain meaningful academic and professional experience in the social sciences at a national level.
