Architecture in the City is a summer program offered by the College of Architecture and Planning at CU Denver for students in grades 10 through 12. Participants explore architecture, landscape architecture, urban design, and urban planning through hands-on projects including model building, drawing, and design-build challenges. The program is available in multiple formats, from a one-day introductory workshop to week-long day or overnight camps. It is an excellent opportunity for students with an interest in design and the built environment to gain real experience at the college level.
Creating drawings, paintings, or other visual work to express ideas and observations.
Modeling parts and products in 3D software before they're built for real.
Breaking down a challenge and working through it methodically to a solution.
Guiding a group toward a shared goal and keeping everyone moving together.
Direct hands-on experience in model building, drawing techniques, and design-build projects core to architecture practice.
Exposure to urban planning and design through interdisciplinary summer camp curriculum and projects.
