Future City is a national STEM competition organized by DiscoverE that challenges students in grades 6 through 12 to design innovative, sustainable cities of the future using the engineering design process. Teams spend approximately four months researching, planning, and building their city concepts around a real-world urban challenge, with this year's theme centered on fire-resilient city design. Competitors present their work at regional qualifying events, where top teams advance to the National Finals in Washington, D.C.
