Student Conservation Association

2 to 5 weeks in summer

The Student Conservation Association National Crews program is a free summer service opportunity for high school students ages 15 to 19 who work on essential conservation projects at national parks, forests, and wildlife refuges across the United States. Crews of 6 to 8 students, supervised by experienced adult leaders, spend 2 to 5 weeks completing trail maintenance and restoration projects while living and camping on-site. Participants develop real-world collaboration and leadership skills while contributing to the preservation of some of the country's most treasured natural landscapes. It is a unique and rewarding way for students to make a meaningful impact on the environment while gaining hands-on experience in conservation work.
