SHTEM is an eight-week summer research internship program at Stanford University, open to high school juniors and seniors with a passion for cutting-edge research. Hosted by the Stanford Compression Forum, the program places students in multifaceted research projects spanning computer science, engineering, biology, neuroscience, linguistics, philosophy, and more, all mentored by Stanford faculty, staff, and graduate students. Participants engage in original, interdisciplinary research that goes beyond what is taught in a traditional classroom setting. There is a $95 nonrefundable application fee, and financial assistance is available for students with demonstrated need.
