The Bennington College Young Writers Awards is an annual international writing competition open to students in grades 9–12, recognizing outstanding achievement in poetry, fiction, and essay writing. Students submit original work and compete within their grade level for first, second, and third place honors, as well as distinguished submission recognition. Winners and distinguished submissions receive cash prizes and scholarships, making this one of the most prestigious and rewarding writing competitions available to high school students.
