TechGirls is a competitive summer exchange program run by the U.S. Department of State that brings together young women ages 15 to 17 from the United States and select countries across Africa, Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and beyond for an immersive 23-day residential experience. Participants attend a hands-on tech camp at a prominent university, explore STEM careers through job shadowing, and engage in cultural programming across major U.S. cities including Austin, Seattle, Denver, and Detroit. The program is designed to expand opportunities for young women in STEM fields and connects participants with a global network of peers and professionals.
