The Native American Science and Engineering Program (NASEP) is a University of Arizona initiative designed specifically for Native American, Alaska Native, and Native Hawaiian high school juniors and seniors pursuing careers in science and engineering. The program centers on a one-week residential experience (June 6-12, 2027) on the University of Arizona campus in Tucson, where participants engage in hands-on projects like computer builds, excursions to Biosphere II, and networking with Indigenous professionals in STEM fields. Beyond the summer week, NASEP offers year-round engagement activities that keep students connected to a supportive community throughout their high school years. It is a rare and meaningful opportunity for Indigenous students to explore their futures in science and engineering alongside peers and mentors who share their background and vision.
