FoodCycle LA is a community service program that fights food insecurity and reduces waste by recovering surplus food from restaurants and retailers across Los Angeles. Volunteers serve as food recovery drivers, using the Careit app to accept missions, pick up donated food that would otherwise end up in landfills, and deliver it to families and nonprofits in need throughout the city. The program is free to join, runs year-round, and is open to minors accompanied by a parent or guardian. If you are looking for a meaningful way to make a direct impact on hunger and sustainability in your community, FoodCycle LA offers a hands-on opportunity to do just that.
