Science Olympiad is a national STEM competition where teams of 15 students compete in 23 events spanning disciplines like genetics, chemistry, physics, mechanical engineering, and earth science. Students train year-round and compete at invitational, regional, and state tournaments, with top teams advancing to the National Tournament to face the best programs in the country. Functioning as a true academic team sport, Science Olympiad rewards students who can cross-train across a wide range of scientific and technical subjects. It is one of the most prestigious and rigorous academic competitions available to middle and high school students.
