River of Words is a free international youth poetry and art competition hosted by Saint Mary's College of California that challenges students ages 5–19 to express their observations of local watersheds and environments through creative work. Now in its 25th year, it is the largest competition of its kind in the world, accepting up to five poetry and five art submissions per participant across a variety of media. It is an exceptional opportunity for students passionate about both the environment and the arts to gain recognition on a global stage.
