Apply by: May 6, 2026

The Economics for Leaders program, offered by the Foundation for Teaching Economics, is a selective summer program designed to help high school students develop both economic understanding and leadership skills. Through an immersive, hands on experience, students learn how to apply core economic concepts such as incentives, scarcity, and market behavior to real world decision making and public policy issues. The program combines interactive lessons, simulations, and group activities that emphasize teamwork, communication, and critical thinking, while also introducing leadership frameworks that help students better understand how to guide and influence others. By connecting economic reasoning with leadership development, the program aims to prepare students to analyze complex problems and make thoughtful, informed decisions in academic, professional, and civic contexts.
